HCAR New Features - 6/16/08
We are proud to introduce new Web 2.0 features for HCAR KnowledgeMesh!
Introducing new Web 2.0 tools to the HCAR KnowledgeMesh! With these new features, true web-collaboration can now begin!
When you log-in to HCAR KnowledgeMesh, you are now entering the Dashboard.
Dashboards offer a quick-glance of "going-on's" within your community and HCAR KnowledgeMesh. Here you can review your recent messages, accept invites, see recent blogs from your connections and your community or if you are a moderator of a community, you can see the list of invites and other tasks to complete.
Communities: You can now join or create communities! When you first go to communities, look for the link to join or create your own community. We already created a series of communities for you: Government, Industry, Life Sciences, and Real Estate. There are also some sub-communities.
To join a community: Find the community you want to join from the drop down file folder menu on the left side. On the right, you can join or create a new sub-community. Once you join a community, a message will be sent to a moderator for review. The community will be added to your "community" tab. Click on the community name in your community tab and it will take you to your community dashboard. Here you can review your recent messages, and/or add or see recent blogs within that community. Blogs within that community will appear in your connections "dashboard".
To create a sub-community: Find the community you want to join from the drop down file folder menu on the left side. On the right, you can join or create a new sub-community. When you create a sub-community, your sub-community will be created under the main community. As a person who creates a sub-community, YOU BECOME THE MODERATOR. You may invite members with whom you may share moderator responsibilities. When users request to join you will receive a message with options to allow or deny their membership. The sub-community will be added to you "community" tab. Click on the community name and it will take you to your community dashboard. Here you can review your recent messages, and/or add or see recent blogs within that community. Blogs within that community will appear in your connections "dashboard".
Messages: This is the internal messaging system within HCAR. To see messages, click on either the Inbox or Sent folder. The list of messages will appear at the top of the main body of the page. Click on the message to reveal the content of the message in the box below the list. Click 'New Message' to create a message to one of your connections.
